On April 29th, I had a girl date with
sempre_mutevoli and my camera had a date with her 50 1.2 *swoon* :)
I preferred the photos in b&w due to the florescent lighting in the shop. It was so nice to shoot something in such a laid back environment. The night before I shot a wedding, so the slower pace was welcomed.
The stencil was placed and it was time for the artist, Silas, to begin!

These shots were not taken the night of the full super moon. Clouds and rain prevented me from getting any shots, but this was a nice consolation prize from the universe. Not only was Saturday the super moon, but there was a small meteor shower as well.
This is cropped from the original image. One day I will have a supah dupah telephoto lens or a nice telescope. Sigh. One day.

Moon rise:
Several power lines were removed and colors adjusted. I just could not get the orange glow to mix well with the blues, so I decided to go with these colors which are marginally accurate. I might go back and mess with them a bit more. The original colors were deep orange (almost red) and a truly brilliant blue.

This was 3 exposures combined. I'm quite proud of this photo, it's the best I've done so far (in my opinion). I'm really looking forward to learning more about Astrophotography.

View of Mars
In this shot I removed the top power line and played with the colors a little to show what it would look like without the light pollution in the lower part of the background. I love the effect the long exposure gave Mars.

This is a more accurate representation of colors and light pollution. I decided to leave the top power line in.

These are the first lightning shots for the year!
Taken on May 4, 2012 in front of my neighbors home that overlooks the Mattaponi River. I'm pretty sure my neighbors think I'm nuts at this point. I apologize for the watermarks in advance, but i'm in the process starting a few rounds of test prints to see if they print well enough to eventually sell.

The last is my absolute favorite lightning shot to date. I can totally seeing this printed HUGE :D
Also, all shots were hand held. We won't talk about how many frames I shot to get these three photos either.

I'm too lazy to go and take photos of the rooms right now, plus I'm saving that for when they are completed ;)
Our bedroom:
The very best part? There is nothing baby/kid related at all! SCORE!

Astrid's room:
Astrid's room still needs a lot of work. She wants pink walls and needs new curtains.

This bear, Kaiser, was given to me by my older brother back in 1986. He went to Germany on a student exchange trip and he brought it back for me.
Leland's room:
Leland's room doesn't need quite as much work as Astrid's, but it still needs to be painted, new curtains, and the quilt that goes with the sheets we got him. That'll have to wait until next month though.

I've gone through and taken a lot of communities off of my friends list and removed a bunch of inactive user accounts. If your account was taken off of my friends list and you still use it, please let me know and I'll add you back! This was nothing personal at all, just trying to simplify my friends list.

I'm so tired of eating the same stuff over and over again.
